Fairtex FMV9 Contoured Focus Mitts

The key differences between leather and synthetic coaching equipment lie in the material’s durability, comfort, and maintenance:

Leather:

Material: Made from genuine leather, known for its strength, flexibility, and natural feel.

Durability: Long-lasting with proper care, leather pads and mitts age gracefully and develop a natural patina over time.

Comfort: Molds to the hand over time, offering a personalized fit with regular use.

Maintenance: Requires conditioning and cleaning to prevent cracking and preserve longevity.

Microfiber:

Material: While standard microfiber is not as long-lasting as leather, Fairtex uses premium microfiber for enhanced durability to extend the life of your gear.

Durability: High durability, especially when exposed to moisture, though it may not mold to the hand as well as leather.

Comfort: Lightweight and comfortable, synthetic options provide excellent shock absorption and ease of use.

Maintenance: Easier to maintain, more resistant to moisture and odors, and requires less care than leather.

Choose based on your preferences for feel, durability, and maintenance needs during training.

Coaching equipment, such as focus mitts and pads, comes in different sizes depending on training needs and personal preference:

Focus Mitts:

Small to Medium Mitts: Ideal for precision work and improving speed. Their smaller surface area helps fighters hone their accuracy. (e.g., Fairtex FMV13, FMV9).

Large Mitts: Designed for general use, providing more surface area for strikes, making them suitable for beginners or trainers who need extra protection. (e.g., Fairtex FMV11).

Kick Pads:

Small to Medium Pads: Lighter and easier to handle, perfect for speed and mobility drills. (e.g., Fairtex KPLC1).

Large Pads: Built for absorbing heavy strikes, these pads are ideal for power training and for use with stronger, more experienced fighters. (e.g., Fairtex KPLC5).

Thai Pads:

Small: Lightweight and easy to maneuver, ideal for precision training and quick movements. Best for speed drills, light strikes, and training with junior fighters or those with smaller frames.

Standard Size: Great for general use and flexibility in training kicks, punches, knees, and elbows.

Extra Large: Designed for power drills and heavier fighters, offering more surface area and impact absorption. (e.g., Fairtex TP4).

Extra Thick: Built for absorbing powerful, repeated strikes, these pads provide maximum protection for the coach during intense training sessions. Perfect for heavy hitters and intense impact training.

Choose based on your focus during training, whether it's speed, power, precision, or all-around protection.
