I've worn these gloves ever since I started my mixed martial arts career. They're a good pair of training gloves.

  • The BGV18 Gold gloves come in a range of sizes, from 8 oz to 16 oz, making them suitable for fighters of all weight classes.
  • The gloves feature a Velcro closure for a secure and comfortable fit, and the padding is strategically placed to absorb the shock of powerful punches and protect the hands.

  • Available in a sleek gold color, adding a touch of style to your training gear

Leather vs Microfiber

The key differences between genuine leather and microfiber boxing gloves lie in the materials, durability, and maintenance:

Material

  • Genuine Leather: Made from animal hide (usually cowhide), known for its toughness and flexibility.
  • Microfiber: A synthetic material engineered to mimic leather, varying in quality but designed for performance.

Durability

  • Genuine Leather: Long-lasting with proper care, retains quality over time.
  • Microfiber: While standard microfiber is not as long-lasting as leather, Fairtex uses premium microfiber for enhanced durability to extend the life of your glove.

Maintenance

  • Genuine Leather: Requires conditioning and cleaning to prevent drying, cracking, and odor.
  • Microfiber: Easier to maintain, more moisture-resistant, and less prone to odor.

Choose based on your preferences, budget, and usage.

What size glove should I get?

Gloves are measured in ounces (oz), typically ranging from 8 oz to 20 oz. Your ideal size depends on weight, training type, and preference:

8-10 oz: Best for competition.

12 oz: Common for women and those with smaller hands.

14 oz: Suitable for general training and sparring.

16 oz: Standard for sparring and general training for most adults.

18-20 oz: Ideal for larger individuals or for extra protection during sparring.

Choose the size that matches your needs for comfort and protection.

What type of glove should I get?

Choosing the right gloves depends on your training goals. Fairtex offers gloves for various purposes:

Training Gloves: Versatile for general training, including bag and pad work.

Sparring Gloves: Softer, designed for sparring to reduce injury risk.

Bag Gloves: Built for heavy bag work, featuring denser padding for durability.

Competition Gloves: Lighter gloves used for official matches.

Store owner replied: Great photo, Paul! You all look fantastic. Thank you for your feedback! Let us know if you have any questions—we’re here to help!

These gloves do make my punches feel faster , I still need to break them in , if you hit hard I do feel the impact on the knuckles but it could be a form issue other than that these gloves are solid for training and sparring.

Fairtex BGV18 Gold Muay Thai Boxing Glove

Store owner replied: It’s great to hear that the Fairtex BGV18 gloves are enhancing your punch speed! It's normal to experience a break-in period with new gloves, and your feedback about the impact on the knuckles is valuable. This can sometimes be attributed to form, so adjusting your technique might help. Many users appreciate these gloves for training and sparring due to their durability and performance. If you have any further questions or need tips on breaking them in, feel free to ask!

Had an old pair of Faitex, solid gloves, more on the stiff side comparing to Top Kings and Twins but I think this is due to the leather used, which also helps with durability. Would easily recommend.
