Nakrob Fairtex took out his opponent Chen Jiayi in the 2nd round. The Thai Athlete pummeled his opponent. Then he waited for his name to be called. He put his hand to his ear at Lumpinee stadium. The MC screamed out his name. He’d won.

Stamp mimicked him. The light hearted joke was all fun and games. But Stamp is waiting for her name to be called at ONE Championship on May 5th in Denver Colorado.

Saemapetch bumps his hand with fellow fighter Valentine Compagnon. The Southpaw Frenchmen fought recently at Max Muay Thai. He finished his opponent in the second round with a knee to the head.

Compagnon fought at Fairtex Fight several times. He performed well but dropped two decisions. He moved down a level to fight at Max. The stadium is now having daily bouts. Tour buses come in and pack the venue.

It is a perfect venue for up and coming talent. For the fighters that need more experience.

Saemapetch meanwhile is going for more high level experience. He fights Felipe Lobo on Friday April 21st at Lumpinee stadium. The bout is slated at Bantamweight. Saemapetch is on a two fight win streak. He knocked out Rittewada with a left cross. Then he went on to win his first kickboxing fight against Zhang Chenglong by decision.

We are sure that more fist bumps are in store for both of these athletes.

The life of a fighter is never easy. Y2K Fairtex knows that. He went through a rough patch in his MMA career. The colorful fighter went on a four fight losing skid. He was knocked out by Sung Hoon Woo with a devasting punch in the first round. Then was submitted via heel hook by Eko Roni Saputra.

He began fighting at 15 and the first time he ever fought he lost. He got a Max Muay Thai belt and gained over 100 bouts to his belt.

“I’ve stopped fighting MMA… after going through a losing streak,” Y2K said. “If I win in Muay Thai I will go back to MMA.

Y2K took on Angelos Giakoumis at ONE Lumpinee. He won the bout. His game plan was conservative. He blasted left kicks out against the strong puncher.

While he gained the judge’s decision he lost some of the Thai crowd. They thought his performance was less than ideal.

So his future is unsure. For now, he is back to the gym and back to helping his fellow fighters get better.

There is no doubt that Y2K will rise again though.

Back Of The Leg Bruises

Fighting creates all sorts of injuries. Canadian German boxer Elisa Keck knows about the odd shots. She picked up a few mottled marks on the back of her leg. Keck picked them up through padwork. Her stern trainer, Hern, caught her kicks and punished her back leg.

Keck is going back to Lumpinee soon. The rising star out of Kieran Keddle’s gym beat Belen Bode at the mecca of Muay Thai recently. Now she’s facing her next challenge.

She’ll go into the fight with a few dings and bruises. That’s fight life though.

Dokmaipaa Got Guns

Southpaw Forest Flower, Dokmaipaa is blooming. She beat WBC Muay Thai Champion Barbara Aguiar. Now she faces Natalia Diachkova. The Russian athlete trains out of Venum Muay Thai. The gym is located right down the street from Fairtex. Both facilities are in Pattaya Thailand. The atomweight bought is due for April 21st. Dokmaipaa will be bringing her guns to the game.

Stretching for Mixed Martial Arts

Professional MMA athlete Mark Abelardo demonstrates a simple but effective stretch. Tight hamstrings are a common problem for athletes of all types. The symptoms include heat, stiffness, aching or burning in the back of the legs. The muscle is responsible for bending or flexing the knee. Stretches such as these improve the mobility of the muscle.

Stamp Fairtex is in the building. The MMA star is training in Denver to prepare for her ONE Championship bout on May 5th.

To help with preparations Coke Fairtex came to her aid. The Thai trainer is an accomplished coach and fighter. He ascended the ranks at Lumpinee. Coke made his way all the way up to being the contender for the championship belt. He fought at the very highly contested 112lb category.

Coke fought in the States as well. He picked up the accolades with bouts against Kevin Ross, Matt Embree, Rami Ibrahim and others.

Now he trains aspiring fighters out of his gym in South Jersey, Kao Muay Thai.

Known for his toughness and athleticism, Coke is pushing Stamp hard. Every training session includes 8 rounds of pad work. Each round is 5 minutes long. Then she works her ground and pound skills. To top things off she works her explosive power with sprints.

Coke is adding lots of fizz to Stamp’s fight life. We can’t wait to see what they have in store for May 5th.
