To understand Chinlon, you have to look at its molecular lineage. Chinlon is essentially a specialized form of Nylon 6—a high-tensile polyamide synthetic fiber.

Because Chinlon is a specialized thermoplastic material, exposing it to improper laundry habits can permanently ruin its performance properties. To ensure your gear lasts for years, use this strict laundering sequence:
1.Wash in cold water:Keep it under 40°C / 104°F.
High heat breaks down the polyamide structure of the fibers, which can warp the elasticity and cause the garment to shrink out of shape.
2.Banish the fabric softener:Zero chemical coatings.
Fabric softeners leave a microscopic, waxy chemical residue on the fabric. This clogs the fine gaps in the weave, permanently destroying the gear's ability to wick sweat away.
3.Hang or flat air dry:Stay away from the tumble dryer.
The harsh, direct tumbling heat of a commercial clothes dryer can melt the microscopic synthetic fibers, destroying the "snap-back" elastic recovery loop of the Spandex blend.
